History 2222 is a workshop in the art and craft of the historian.

My students engage in the big questions that have driven our discipline for thousands of years and the challenges and opportunities we face today, while honing the historian's unique blend of analytical and communication skills.

For their final projects (posted below with permission) they assess the historical accuracy and the sheer entertainment value of a movie, book, tv show, web series, or video game that is based on a true story, and present their analysis in a blog post, podcast, video, or other format.

On our last day together they work in small teams to write a "rant" (posted below with permission) modelled after a famous Canadian beer commercial, about what it means to them to be historians.
